openai cuts chatgpt pro 200 limits in half on oct 30 – same $200, 10x plus usage instead of 20x

what changes:
• existing pro 200 subscribers drop from 20x to 10x the usage of plus
• new subscribers have been on 10x since sep 30
• a plus-sized allowance now costs $20 on every pro tier, on the old pro 200 it was $10
• pro 500 at $500 a month gets 25x and astra ultrafast

the compensation:
a one-time grant of 62,500 credits, ~$2,500, expiring dec 31, the new stack reports, plus up to $500 a month in api credits for pro and business subscribers from oct 28, @OpenAIDevs says. @TokenGremlin: the one-time grant "doesn't make up for a permanent cut"

anthropic did the same in july: max and team premium limits cut by 33%, claude pro users got a one-time $100 credit
